Provenance: manuscript inscriptions on front fly-leaf: "March 7 1656", "Thomas Hussey his booke pretium -0-5-8" [i.e. Sir Thomas Hussey (1639-1706), 2nd Bt., of Doddington Hall, whose daughter and co-heir Elizabeth Hussey (1687/8–1724) married Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)], and "ff Edward Trotter / Se present livre appartient a Thomas Hussey ..... [sic] To present to Sr. Tho: Hussey" [Edward Trotter not traced]. Binding: seventeenth-century panelled calf; double blind fillet border; single central panel formed by double blind fillets, with blind cornerpiece stamps; double blind fillets on board edges; recessed cords; blind fillets and gilt title label on spine. Red stained edges.
