Late nineteenth-century (?) armorial bookplate: barlborough hall [i.e. Barlborough Hall, near Chesterfield, Derbyshire; library formed by Reaston and Rodes families]. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on pastedown in Norris's hand: Barlborough Hall sale 1938 1/= H. [i.e. Hodgson's] 7/7 38 Lot 502. Binding: Eighteenth-century half sheep; marbled paper over boards; brown leather spine label; sewn on five raised bands.
