Provenance: Eighteenth-century (?) armorial bookplate with earl's coronet and motto of the Order of the Garter: "Honi soit qui mal y pense"; same armorial on binding. Cf. Ham B.4.11 which has the same. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on flyleaf in Norris's hand: Hodgson 24/3 '38 Lot 295 25/=. Binding: Eighteenth-century armorial full calf binding; gilt fillets; gilt armorial stamp matching that of bookplate; spine gilt, with title "Stukeley Itinerar curiosum"; sewn on six raised bands.
