Provenance: Black ink stamp on flyleaf (vol. 1) and half-title (vol. 2): The National Trust founded 1895. Binding: Nineteenth-century polished calf, spine gilt with rolls and floral stamps in compartments with five raised bands, red and brown spine labels, floral rolls to board edges and inners, double gilt fillet and small floral cornerpieces on covers, gilt top edge. Spine title: Dickens' Works 5 [-6] ... Gilt tooling at foot of front endpaper: Bound by Ramage. Vol. 2 rebacked; vol. 1 back board loose.
