Memorials and characters . of above two hundred eminent and worthy persons among the nobility and gentry, of both sexes: as likewise among the clergy of Great Britain, from the year one thousand six hundred to the present time. Interspersed with the lives of several learned men, which have been written during that period; and not hitherto collected. And the whole compiled from a great variety of the most reputable authors, whose names (as they occur) are prefixed to each life and character. To which is added, an appendix of monumental inscriptions, in Latin and English. Likewise chronological tables, and an index to the whole.
