'Je l'ay Finy le 15 Xio: (62)'; on final text page of 3,ii: 'Je l'ay Finy le 4 d Avr: (64)'. Provenance: Signature in 17th or 18th-century hand on flyleaf of vol. 1,i (obscured by bookplate): 'M Brownlowe' [perhaps Mary Brownlow, daughter of Richard Brownlow the Prothonotary, born c. 1600 (if the same person who wrote the notes), or more likely Margaret Brownlow (1687-1710), daughter of 'Young' Sir John and Dame Alice Brownlow. Bookplates: John Brownlow, viscount Tyrconnel (armorial); Belton House (earl's coronet & crests). Binding: Seventeenth-century calf, close-cropped.
