Within the catalogue each tract volume is separated and the individual contents listed (short title and year of publication). Ms. contents on front flyleaf: "Old pamphlets - 1; 1640-1714 - 16; Geo. 1st - 43; Geo. 1st & 2d 67; Geo. 2d 75; Geo. 2d & 3d 89; Geo. 3d 105; Geo. 3&4 158; Geo. IV 169; Wm. IV 184 Divinity tracts 8mo 251 12 mo 338.". P. 16 contains "1640 to 1714. Alphabetical list of names to the first seven volumes". Pp. 366-370: "A list of pamphlets in the appendices to some of the volumes of Cobbetts Parly. Histy.". An additional index of "Vol: 113" and "Vol: 79" is loosely inserted between pp. 148-149; "Memdum respecting pamphlets" loosely inserted between pp. 250-251, written on verso of a prescription issued to William Robert Hay, 25th March 1837, from Thomas Booth and Son, chemists and druggists, No. 159, Yorkshire Street, Rochdale"; list of pamphlet tiles with running numbers from 2750-2862 loosely inserted between pp.316-317. Occasional errors are pasted over and corrected (cf. for example p.115 and 117). Loose insertions at front: (1) Printed pamphlet "The justice and equity of assessing the net profits of the land" ([1838]). (2) Ms. list in hand of William Robert Hay of the page numbers within the catalogue, their corresponding volume numbers and the number of tracts within each volume; later annotated in the hand of Charles Winn.
