Talbot [i.e. Rosamond Talbot, d. 1906] the gift of her affectionate Papa [i.e. William Henry Fox Talbot, 1800-1877] March 16th 1858" on recto of preliminary half-title leaf to both volumes. Small rectangular newspaper cutting with a design of a bouquet of flowers loosely inserted into vol. 1. Binding: nineteenth century publisher's binding in textured red cloth over boards; gilt stamped vignette in centre of upper board; gilt tooled title "Ancient pottery and porcelain Birch" and volume numbers on spine.
