Late nineteenth- or early twentieth-century book labels on pastedown and flyleaf: Downing Library [i.e. possibly the library begun by Thomas Pennant (1726-1798) at his home of Downing, Flintshire, North Wales?]. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Binding: Eighteenth-century full mottled calf over boards; gilt fillet; red morocco spine label with title: 'Sadler's Letters'; sewn on five raised bands.
