Provenance: Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v. 1 pastedown in Norris's hand: Wentworth Castle June '48. Lot 940 [Wentworth Castle, Yorkshire, seat of the Earls of Strafford].. Binding: Eighteenth-century full calf over boards; gilt spine-tools with armorial motif of crossed lines and acorns, seen elsewhere on books from Wilbraham collection (eg. Ham C.2.8 and C.2.9) and resembling Tollemache arms; later red morocco spine label with title 'Duhalde's China'; sewn on five raised bands.
