Provenance: Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. - Some ink markings, inscription on title page, the name 'Sir Richard Stoto [?] on rear free-endpaper and 'Bart. Stoto [?] Trin. Coll. Cant.' on previous leaf; these leaves torn. Binding: Eighteenth-century sprinkled calf, blind-panelled, gold-decorated spine, brown spine-label, gold-lettered; traces of printed blackletter text used in the binding, joints cracked.
