Provenance: Ink inscription on front pastedown: 'Bentley Hall Library'. Inscribed in ink on title page: 'J.H. Whitmore' = John Henry Whitmore (1795/6-1853) who assumed the surname Jones on inheriting Chastleton in 1828. In pencil on back flyleaf verso, 'G. Wichister [?] 1814'. Binding: Seventeenth-century sprinkled calf, blind double fillets to form a border, blind triple fillets to form a frame with blind tooled cornerpieces. Four raised bands, double blind-ruled, brown spine-label, gold-lettered: 'Juvenal / Var'. Red edges.
