Manuscript inscription on title page verso: "Tho: & Isabella Hervey" [i.e. Sir Thomas Hervey (1625-1694) and his wife Isabella (1625-1686)].. Binding: Seventeenth-century sheepskin binding; double blind fillet border. Rebacked in blind-tooled sheepskin, with gilt title and date stamped on spine.

Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
