(Franks 2066) [i.e. Jonathan Belcher (1710-1776), lawyer and Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia, studied law in Middle Temple from 1730]. Manuscript inscriptions by Belcher, one dated 1739. Binding: Eighteenth-century full calf over boards; blind fillets; rebacked in calf; red morocco spine label with title: "Law of devises and revocations"; sewn on five raised bands.

Provenance

Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
