Manuscript inscription on front fly-leaf: "Volumen hoc, ... [one word, illegible] Ecclesiae Anglicanae ... [two words] ad usum sacrarii de Erddig in agero Denbighshire quod, in honorem die atque ... [one word] Simon Yorke armigero ... Comes Dungannon ... Die Dec. 1. 1851" [i.e. Simon Yorke (1811-1894)].. Binding: Eighteenth-century gold-panelled red morocco binding; gilt roll on board edges and turn-ins; gold-tooled spine, with title lettered directly onto spine. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers.
