Binding: Eighteenth-century blind-panelled sprinkled calf binding; gilt roll on board edges. Gilt centrepiece stamped on both boards: Hervey impaling Upton, earl's coronet [i.e. Frederick William Hervey, 5th Earl and 1st Marquess of Bristol (1769-1859), and his wife Elizabeth Albana Upton (1775-1844)]. Rebacked in blind-tooled calf, with gilt title stamped on spine. Red sprinkled edges.

Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
