Provenance: Nineteenth-century armorial bookplate, motto: Qui cust odit caveat, and lettered: "Robert Henry Hobart Cust" [ (1861-1940), son of Robert Needham Cust]. Also inscribed: "Victoria M.L. Cust" [i.e. Victoria Mary Louisa Cust (1823-95), daughter of Sir Edward Cust and Mary Anne Boode, m. Simon Yorke III of Erddig in 1846]. "Left to R.H. Hobart Cust Aberamffra January 1895". Binding: Eighteenth-century publisher's half green sheep on green marbled paper boards, gilt lettered direct on spine. Edges densely sprinkled red.

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
