Binding: nineteenth century gilt-tooled calf; gilt tooling on edges of boards; decorative tooling on turn-ins; gilt tooling, title label reading "Pausanias' Greece" and volume number on spine; text block edges marbled green, blue and red; marbled end-papers. Late nineteenth/early twentieth century Christmas card to Master W. Elmslie from E. Laurence[?] inserted; card has an embossed design of lilies and greetings "Best Wishes" and "A happy Christmas and bright New Year to you".
