Ms. inscription on front flyleaf: "This book was engraved by Dr. Stukeley for his Medallic history of the British Kings, is a very great rarity, as the plates are said to be destroyed, and no other impression taken off. Here are no less than 140 British coins. V. Borlace's [sic] Antiquities of Cornwall. I bought this book at an auction at Essex House of Dr. Stukeley's books & curiosities, after his death. [Stukeley's coins (chiefly Roman), fossils, pictures, and antiquities were sold at Essex House, Essex Street, London, on 15 and 16 May 1766]..
