Binding: quarter tan goatskin; paper pulp boards; sewn onto five raised cords; three cords used to attach boards, two holes for each cord, cord laid and pasted diagonally top left to bottom right; spine compartments which have previously had labels gilt ruled; evidence of two spine labels, now missing; offsetting on the front and rear flyleaves and on the verso of the front board and recto of the rear board suggest that the boards have previously been covered with a marbled paper; fragments of this can be found occasionally in the gutters.
