Binding: early eighteenth-century French red morocco, triple fillet, with the arms of the comtesse de verrue. Gilt spine with brown lettering- and numeration-pieces, the latter recording the presence of both volumes bound together. The rampant lion and nine lozenges of the countess' arms appear in alternate panels on the spine. Red, white and green headbands, edges gilt over marble, solid chevron turn-in roll; double-combed marbled endleaves.
