Old Wimpole shelfmarks: O.7.18 [brown ink, late 18C, crossed through in black ink]; S/7 [pencil]; S.3.9 [black ink]. Corner of flyleaf, possibly containing previous provenance, cut away. Provenance: Armorial bookplate: The Honble. Charles Yorke [i.e. Charles Yorke (1722-1770, younger brother of the 2nd Earl of Hardwicke; Lord Chancellor, 1770]. Binding: Eighteenth-century sprinkled, panelled, calf over boards double gilt fillet and numbers on spine, blind tooling on covers, gilt roll on board edges, red sprinkled edges. Spine title on label overlaying original volume number: Dr. Whichcote Sermons V. Spine label mostly missing (top piece present). Old water stain throughout textblock.
