Given me by my unckle George Browne in the year 1712" [William Browne remains unidentified], and "George Browne booke price 2s.-0d. 1690" [i.e. George Browne, 1688-1767]. Three rear fly-leaves also covered in ms., including: "Benjamin Brown booke given us by our brother William Brown".. Binding: Contemporary sheepskin binding, with double blind fillet border, and double blind fillet running parallel to spine-edge; board edges have single blind fillet decoration; initials "G B" [i.e. George Browne?] stamped in blind on both boards.
