(Franks 12497 or 12498) [i.e. Sir Archibald Grant, 4th Baronet of Monymusk (or Monymoske) (1760-1820)]. His inscription on title pages: Sir Archd. Grant of Monymoske Bart. Eighteenth- or nineteenth-century ink pressmarks (?) on pastedowns and flyleaves. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Norris's pencil note on v. 1 flyleaf, identifying authors. Loosely inserted: slip of manuscript notes by Norris. Binding: Eighteenth-century full calf over boards; gilt spine fillets; brown morocco spine labels; sewn on five raised bands.
