Orientation: Vertical Text Substrate: hand made laid paper Ink/Pigment: black printing ink Type: BOUND BOOK Binding Type: Inboard binding, recessed supports Date of Binding: ca 1800 Binder's Name: English End Leaves: A single fold of stone marble, the flyleaf made to a sheet of plain white handmade laid paper followed by a made flyleaf of two sheets of the same. Sewing not visible. The marbled paper taken just onto outer surface of the board. Structure: English Edges: plain cut, sprinkled with green pigment and polished Spine Lining: moderate round, square joints, no visible linings but the spine is rigid. End Bands: Worked 1x1x1 L-R in green, white and red silk over two cores (material unknown). Bookmark: pink silk glued on spine under headband Boards:4mm rope fibre, back cornered., all slips laced Covering: brown tanned calf, with overall marbled pattern on the boards in green (copper green?) Tooling Spine: 7 gold-tooled horizontal bands with direct title in panel 2 and a large round tool in centre of the other panels Tooling Sides: gold-tooled roll border and turn-ins and a single fillet on the board edges. Furniture: None Enclosure: None Binding Notes: pastedowns put down with the boards open.
