Seven-line initials on a4r and c2v supplied in red with reserved white decoration; all other initials supplied in red; paragraph marks, underlining of captions and capital strokes throughout supplied in red. Provenance: library of Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742) of Nocton, Lincolnshire. Binding: early eighteenth-century gold-tooled dull reddish-brown goatskin; sewn on six supports; narrow gilt border of a double fillet and semi-circular dotted roll pattern with dentelle roll pattern along inner edges; gilt floral roll pattern on board edges and on turn-ins; gold-tooled spine; gilt title 'Sallustius Venet 1478' on brown goatskin spine label; gilt edges; comb and swirl pattern marbled paper endpapers; six plain paper flyleaves at front and three at rear.
