Binding: seventeenth-century full mottled calf; sewn on five raised bands; gilt oval armorial centrepiece stamp: a chevron cotised between in chief two mullets and at base a lamb passant; barred helm affronty with mantling; gold-tooled spine, with cipher PMSF in panels, and gilt title lettered directly onto spine; red and brown sprinkled textblock edges.
