Pencil code at head of leaf [Alpha]1r: "SS1". Marginal annotations in Greek in black ink on leaves [Alpha]3r and [Beta]6r; interlinear annotation in Greek in black ink on leaf [Alpha]7r. Provenance: library of Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742) of Nocton, Lincolnshire. Manuscript initial on front fly-leaf: "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys]. Binding: eighteenth-century full mottled calf (insect damage on front cover); sewn on five supports; triple gilt fillet border with small gilt sunray stamp in the corners; gilt roll pattern along board edges and turn-ins; gold-tooled spine with floral stamps within fillet panels, and with brown leather title label 'Callimachus' in gilt; burnished red painted bookblock edges; comb and swirl pattern marbled endpapers; 18 blank leaves bound-in at front, 18 blank leaves bound-in at rear.
