Provenance: Remains of nineteenth-century armorial bookplate of Sir William Browne Ffolkes, mostly torn out of v. 2; remaining fragment matches his bookplate in other Hillington Hall books. Bookplate cut out of v.1, presumably the same. (Franks 10858) [Sir William John Henry Browne ffolkes, 2nd baronet (1786-1860), of Hillington Halll, Norfolk]. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on v. 1 pastedown in Norris's hand: Hillington Hall Library Norf[olk].. Binding: Eighteenth-century full calf over boards; gilt fillet; spine gilt, with armorial motif which resembles the Tollemache arms (as also found on Ham C.2.9 and C.2.10, which belonged to the Wilbraham family); sewn on six raised bands.
