Brown envelope inserted between pastedown and flyleaf addressed to Sir Charles trevelyan, Wallington Hall, Cambo, Morpeth.Postark date 27 Feb 1956. Two page addition bound in at title page, 'History of Northumberland and Parts of thet Work' by the Rev. John Hodgson, M.R.S.L. listing descriptions of the books and a list of the subscribers. With a seperate list of 'Subscribers to Mr Hodgson's History of Northumberland' tipped in between above and title page. With sheet of writing paper folded in half with 'Telegraph, Cambo. Station, Scot's Gap' printed on top left corner and 'Wallington, Cambo, Morpeth' printed on top right hand corner, laid in at p. 138. Two small pieces of paper used as bookmarks at p. 186 and p. 214. With a handwritten letter tippeed in at p. 222 with Stobhill, Morpeth printed at top and dated 2 Sept 1879. Provenance: Twentieth-century pictorial armorial bookplate, a re-working of an earlier William Bell Scott pictorial Trevelyan bookplate (Franks 29799) of Sir Walter Calverley Trevelyan (1797-1879), lettered: Charles & Mary Trevelyan [i.e. Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan (1870-1958), & Mary Katharine, (m.1904).] Arms: Trevelyan impaling Bell. Not in Franks.. Binding: Half leather; marbled boards and endpapers; title gilt lettered direct onto spine; gilt top.
