Binding: contemporary vellum over mill boards, onlay of red morocco round the margin of the sides, tooled with a broad fillet and two thinner fillets in gold on each side, red morocco showing between them. Castle and rampant lion of Lowendahl gilt in alternate corners. Gilt arms of Brancas de Lauraguais in centre with arms of Marie-Louise de Lowendahl. Spine tooled in six panels on alternate onlays of red and green morocco. Doublures of green morocco with elaborate dentelle round the sides; middle of the upper cover under a coronet the monogram CB; centre of lower cover LB. Loose flyleaf of rose watered silk, gilt edges, rose silk bookmarker. Attributed to N.-D. Derome.
