Manuscript inscription on verso of front fly-leaf: "2. vol.", written in the hand of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742). Binding: eighteenth-century red goatskin; sewn on five raised bands; single gilt fillet border; single gilt fillet along board edges; gilt roll pattern along turn-ins; gold-tooled spine with floral tooling; brown leather title label in gilt on spine; all edges gilt; comb and swirl pattern marbled endpapers.
