Manuscript inscriptions on front endleaf: [1] "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys]; [2] former shelfmark number in pencil in nineteenth-century hand "6:T:32"; [3] "Preface to the 4th pt of Rushworth" in eighteenth-century hand (Ellys?). Binding: eighteenth-century sprinkled and cat's paw brown calf over boards, blind-tooled to a Cambridge-style panel design of dotted lines with floral cornerpiece stamps. Gold-tooled pattern along board edges. Five bands; gilt title "MEMOIRES | BY L. | HOLLIS" on red label. Endbands with front beads. Five supports laced in at diagonal angle; pastedown and endleaves at both ends. Red sprinkled edges.
