Provenance: bookplate: George Harry Grey (1737-1819) after 1768; anonymous armorial variant 2. Franks 12841; pasted over earlier bookplate: Lady Mary Booth (1704-1772) pre-1736; armorial lozenge. Franks 3064. Manuscript "M." in top left corner of front pastedown [i.e. Lady Mary Booth pre-1736, prior to her marriage]. Manuscript inscription on front fly-leaf: "Delamer" [i.e. Henry Booth, 1st Earl of Warrington (1652-1694)]. Manuscript cipher on rear fly-leaf: initials [not known] beneath ducal[?] coronet, two feathers, dated "1693", with inscription "Vanity of vanitys, all is vanity". Binding: 17th century mottled calf binding; boards have double gilt fillet border; blind roll pattern on board edges; gold-tooled spine, title label missing; red and green mottled edges. Front and rear boards are loose.
