Provenance: Armorial bookplate in both vols., 19th century: lettered: 'Bangor' (not in Franks). manuscript inscription (eighteenth-century) on title page of both vols.: "Bangor". manuscript inscription (eighteenth-century?) on rear fly-leaf of vol. 1, blurred and mostly illegible. Long eighteenth-century[?] manuscript inscription (blurred in places) on front pastedown (somewhat obscured by bookplate) and front fly-leaves of vol. 2, mentioning the Duchess of Athol[?] and coach lined with yellow velvet.. Binding: Eighteenth-century polished calf bindings; blind roll pattern on board edges; red title label and black vol. no. label on spines.
