Ephemera: Printed card from 'Brown's Antiquarian Book Shop 87 High Street Eton, Windsor England' used as a marker (marking entry for "Angleseye, in Cambridgeshire"). Provenance: Pencil inscription on front pastedown in the hand of Huttleston Rogers Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven (1896-1966): "From Henry August 31st 1949 Anglesey Abbey" [presumably from Henry Rogers Broughton, 2nd Baron Fairhaven (1900-1973)]. Manuscript inscription on front free endpaper verso has been scratched away, with only the date "1857" remaining. Binding: Early nineteenth-century full calf; gilt and blind tooled panel design; recessed cords; gilt and blind tooled spine; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Monasticon Anglicanum'; gilt rolled board edge corners and turn-ins; gilt textblock edges; green endpapers; dark blue ribbon marker.
