Possibly purchased in Italy by the 5th earl on his Grand Tour of 1760?. Provenance: Bookplate on front pastedowns: Armorial, Grey and Booth quarterings impaling Cavendish-Bentinck: George Harry Grey, 5th earl of Stamford & 1st earl of Warrington (2nd cr.) (1737-1819).. Binding: Italian paper bindings (as issued); loosely stitched (6 holes); sewn onto 4 'string' cords; edges roughly cut.
