Provenance: Late eighteenth- or early nineteenth-century armorial shield bookplate: Sir George Shuckburgh Bart, with "f3" added in manuscript (Not in Franks) [i.e. Sir George Augustus William Shuckburgh-Evelyn, 6th baronet (1751-1804), politician and astronomer]. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on pastedown in Norris's hand: Webster 15/11 43 6/=.. Binding: Eighteenth-century tree calf over boards; spine gilt; black spine label with title 'Ayscough's Index to Shakspeare'.
