Provenance: Pictorial bookplate (6.7x5cm): Ex Libris Rudyard Kipling A.D. 1894. - Kipling's bookplate pasted over another, possibly 'John Barrow' [v.2 slightly visible]. - 20C purple ink stamp: The National Trust. Binding: Nineteenth-century half calf, brown cloth sides, gilt-lettered on red spine labels 'Bp Heber's Indian journal', base of spine stamped with gold squirrel [possibly an ownership mark]; binder's stamp on front pastedown: 'W.H. Dalton 28 Cockspur Street'.
