Inscribed on v. 1 pastedown in Norris's hand: Colne Park 1940. 6 vols. 10/=. H. [i.e. Hodgson's] 18/1 40 Lot 344. Loosely inserted: slip with Norris's note: "Read Autumn-winter 1945. Very entertaining even when one knows little of Spain or its language. NESN. 29.XII.45".. Binding: Eighteenth-century full calf over boards; brown leather spine label with title "Baretti's Journey"; sewn on five raised bands. Small manuscript paper label on upper board of v. 4, with number 344/8 (Hodgson's lot number).
