Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: eighteenth-century mottled sheep over boards on six raised cords, gilt spine tooling, brown spine labels (some missing), double gilt fillet with gilt centre- and cornerpieces on covers, gilt rolls on board edges and inners, gilt edges, green silk bookmark. Leather dessicating on all covers.
