Manuscript former shelfmarks on verso of front fly-leaf: "U.3.29." and "32.1.27". Manuscript inscription at foot of title page: "Tiasso H. Tiassens" [possibly one Tiasso Tiassens (Tjasso Tjassens), one of the four mayors (burgemeester) of Groningen in 1638 and 1639]. Manuscript inscription on recto of front fly-leaf: "m der eersten". Various manuscript scribbles on rear fly-leaves. Binding: sixteenth-century blind-panelled calf. Thin thick thin fillet border and panel; panel has gilt cornerpiece stamps and gilt oval centrepiece stamp of a symetrical design. Pair of holes in both boards for ties (missing, stub of green cloth tie remains inside front board). Blind fillets and gilt stamps on spine. Blue stained edges. Leaf of dark red paper as rear fly-leaf and remnants of similar leaf at front, probably originally the pastedowns.
