Provenance: Bookplate: Thomas Noel Hill, 2nd Baron Berwick (1770-1832), after 1812; armorial spade shield with supporters. Franks 14729. manuscript shelfmark on bookplate: "A.3.13.". manuscript inscription on half-title: "from the author". Bookseller's label on front pastedown: 'Sold by R. Edwards no. 142. New Bond Strt.'.. Binding: Late eighteenth-century red straight-grained morocco binding; gilt-panelled; gilt roll patterns on board edges and turn-ins; gilt fillets and rolls along riased bands on spine. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers.
