Provenance: manuscript inscription on stub of front fly-leaf: "C. & P. /" [i.e. the "collated and perfect" mark of the bibliophile Thomas Rawlinson (1681-1725)]. Manuscript capital letter on front fly-leaf: "D". Manuscript price in ink on rear fly-leaf: "1:5:0:". Binding: seventeenth-century full gold-tooled red morocco (rubbed and stained); sewn onto five sewing supports; covers have double gilt fillet border and inner panel of double and single gilt fillets with gilt cornerpiece stamps; gilt floral roll pattern along board edges and turn-ins; gold-tooled spine, with gilt stamp within fillet panels and roll pattern at head and foot; gilt title on brown goatskin label on spine. Gilt textblock edges. Marbled pastedowns.
