Folded plate containing the key to the map of Rome "Explicatio aedificiorum Romae" is loose. Foot of leaf F1 partially missing due to an imperfection in the paper. Provenance: old manuscript shelfmark on front pastedown: "T.1.20" [probably written by Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Binding: late seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf (rubbed, small part missing at foot of front cover); gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine; gilt title lettered directly onto spine. Red sprinkled edges.
