Manuscript inscription on verso of second front fly-leaf: "Secretaria" [i.e. title note and catalogue entry for anonymous works, written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys]. Manuscript codes on either side of date of imprint on title page. Binding: seventeenth-century full calf; sewn on four raised bands; double blind fillet border with additional double fillet parallel to spine-edge; single gilt fillet along board edges; blind fillets on spine. Red sprinkled textblock edges.
