Provenance: manuscript inscription in pencil (partially erased) at head of half-title: "C & P" [i.e. "Collated & Perfect"]. Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf (English?); sewn onto five cords; five raised bands; double blind fillet border, with two additional double blind fillets parallel to spine-edge; gilt dotted roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine, with stamp, fillet and roll decoration; gilt title (faded) lettered directly onto spine. Red and brown sprinkled textblock edges.
