Matthaeus" [i.e. Antonius Matthaeus (1635-1710), professor of law at Utrecht and Leiden, and editor of historical sources]; and on rear fly-leaf (in same hand): "Alteserrae dissertationes pr 8. Thomae Carnipretani[?] apum liber. Hieronymi Rubaei[?] historia Ravenum". Binding: late seventeenth-century sprinkled calf; gilt roll pattern on board edges; gold-tooled spine, with gilt title. Red and brown sprinkled edges.
