Small label on front pastedown: "&" [printed in red ink] / "14" [manuscript in black ink]; these inventory or shelfmark labels are characteristic of books from the library of Loménie de Brienne. Manuscript shelfmark[?] on front pastedown: "L.1.M.". Manuscript book or inventory number in red crayon or pencil on rear pastedown: "A684". Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf; sewn onto five supports; small gilt armorial centrepiece stamp: arms of Louis-Henri de Lomenie, comte de Brienne (1635-1698); gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine; gilt title lettered on spine; red and brown sprinkled textblock edges.
