Fergusson, with motto "Vi et arte" [i.e. James Ranken Fergusson, 2nd Bt, of Spitalhaugh (1835-1924)];(3) twentieth-century monogram bookplate with initial ‘E' against a rose inside a marquess's coronet and a framed by a double L [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin (1879-1959), m. in 1899 Charles Vane-Tempest-Stewart, 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915]. Binding: Eighteenth-century sprinkled calf binding; Gilt armorial stamp displaying Vane-Tempest-Stewart marshalled with Chaplin under a marquess coronet with charges and motto (Metuenda corolla draconis); rebacked.
